About You: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual with a passion for project management and engineering excellence, specifically in drainage and structures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding safety and quality standards. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring project success through effective coordination, planning, and execution of engineering works related to drainage and structures. Key Accountabilities: As the Senior Project Engineer for the Stephenson Avenue Project, you will be specializing in either drainage, structures, or services your responsibilities include: Ensuring all quality, environmental, and safety aspects of the project related to drainage and structures are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery. Monitoring and controlling subcontractors' performance to ensure workmanship standards are met for drainage and structural components. Implementing project quality plans and addressing non-conformances promptly in the context of drainage and structures. Adhering to safety plans and ensuring compliance with relevant HSE policies and regulations specific to drainage and structures. Assessing project risks and hazards related to drainage and structures and recommending measures to control them. Providing support and advice on planning, design suitability, and construction practices specific to drainage and structures. Managing the operational aspects of project delivery related to drainage and structures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Maintaining documentation flow between engineers, site supervisors, consultants, subcontractors, and the project team, ensuring all parties work from current documentation for drainage and structures. Monitoring progress of work related to drainage and structures and advising the senior project engineer of significant changes and proposed remedial action. Ensuring construction-related aspects of the project related to drainage and structures meet or exceed performance targets in terms of time, cost, and quality. Managing subcontractor and supplier performance specifically for drainage and structural components. Reviewing and procuring appropriate resources for drainage and structural requirements to fulfill program needs. Promoting and encouraging new construction techniques for drainage and structures to improve cost and safety programs. Maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and preparing status reports and change orders specifically for drainage and structural components. Facilitating effective communication with internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to drainage and structural construction activities. Required Skills and Competencies Required Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant tertiary education. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with others. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of the same. Competent with cost control of projects. Clear verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Package. Preferably 7-10 years of experience in a construction/engineering environment, with a focus on drainage and structural projects.
