A leading telecommunication company in search of a Database Administrator specialising in the delivery of Microsoft SQL Server solutions across Azure cloud and on-premises databases. Responsibilities entail solution design, database construction, and operational support, providing advanced SQL Server Database assistance and driving efficiency through automation and cloud migrations. Role Purpose The primary objective is to provide expert-level SQL Server Database support, ensuring the security, data integrity, and performance of the company's database workloads. This involves automating processes, developing platforms, and transitioning databases to optimised cloud environments, aligning with the company's strategic objectives. Responsibilities Automation of SQL Server database workloads through cloud platforms. Provision of dev-ops support for application teams, enhancing self-service capabilities. Leading initiatives for efficient and timely database deployment and data migration. Design and maintenance of optimally performing SQL Server databases in cloud and on-premise environments. Provision of 24x7 operational support and contribution to automation and self-service tools. Leadership in the design and implementation of cloud services and integration of enterprise applications. Metrics include on-time, on-budget delivery of technical solutions and adherence to SLAs. Strategic decision-making in solution delivery, with focus on technical and financial aspects. Key internal relationships encompass Senior Team Managers, Architects, and Program Managers. External relationships involve industry partners, commercial customers, and vendors. Prerequisites: Strong collaboration skills, team performance enhancement, innovation, and customer-centric design. Technical expertise covers excellent communication, troubleshooting, cloud migration, and agile practices. Extensive knowledge in SQL Server architecture, experience in database migrations and performance tuning, familiarity with Azure and AWS SQL services, and a solid understanding of ITIL processes.
