Women's Accessories Designer / Buyer & Footwear Technician — Middle Park, Port Phillip

Source, develop & range, technical fit of the Women's Footwear and Belt categories by consulting with external suppliers & conducting seasonal buys. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Women's Accessories Designer / Buyer & Footwear Technician to join a dynamic team at Seed Heritage. This role will be responsible for the sourcing, development and ranging, technical fit of the Women’s Footwear and Belt categories. This includes consulting with external suppliers, sourcing products from local and overseas suppliers and conducting seasonal buy presentations. THE ROLE: Research and identify key trends, items, colors, and styles for the season, applying them to our Australian and International accessories range. Source, range, sketch, and quantify the accessories collection in collaboration with the Planner & Design Manager, ensuring a balanced product mix. Assist in setting up tech packs for handover in conjunction with the Design Assistant/Junior Designer. Fit footwear and belt styles, providing technical feedback to suppliers for product adjustments. Work with the Design Manager to identify growth opportunities within the departments based on historical and forward trends. Maximise sales within the season by reordering bestsellers and maintaining stock of key lines in coordination with the Planner. Stay informed about competitors and the marketplace to inform product decisions and maintain Seed quality and styling standards. Manage development and production lead times to achieve on-time delivery and correct lifecycle management. Negotiate costs with factories, suppliers, and agents to meet first margin targets. Analyse weekly sales reports to identify bestsellers, sell-through rates, and areas for improvement. On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices. THE REQUIREMENTS A relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or related field Minimum 3-5 years-experience in a similar design, technical footwear, and accessory role Comprehensive Adobe Suite knowledge, proficient in illustrator. Thorough technical understanding of Footwear and Accessories Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills Strong sketching and tech pack creation skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Analytical mindset with a focus on sales and budget management. Familiarity with fashion trends, competitor analysis, and market dynamics. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
