About the role We are delighted to announce that an opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer at our Yarwun manufacturing site located in Gladstone, QLD. Orica Yarwun manufactures nitric acid, ammonium nitrate and sodium cyanide products which are used in mining, infrastructure, agriculture, and water industries locally, nationally and internationally. Orica has operated at Yarwun for over 30 years and is committed to the health and safety of employees and minimising the impact of our manufacturing activities on the community and the environment. The core focus of a Mechanical Engineer is to provide mechanical engineering excellence to support the implementation of Orica's Asset Management Mandate & Standard, to ensure safety and environmental protection, whilst optimising asset value at all stages of the life cycle for the purpose of achieving the business strategy. What you will be doing Support Continuous Manufacturing strategic initiatives; Provide pressure systems expertise (rotating equipment expertise desirable); Undertake Life Cycle Cost Analysis and evaluation; Provide expert assistance for and during Turnarounds; Collaborate with other Asset Management functions; Conduct auditing activities and gap evaluation; Undertake external benchmarking of existing capability and existing technologies. What you will bring Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or other recognised qualifications such as AICIP, API and AINDT; At least 3 years' experience in plant engineering; Significant pressure systems experience (Design, manufacture, inspection (new and in-service),and repair of Pressure Equipment including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, piping,pressure relief valves); Capability in time based, extended time based, and Risk Based inspections analyses, Fitnessfor Service, materials knowledge and welding knowledge; Experience within projects, maintenance, and operations.
