About the role We are seeking a dynamic Computational Design Director to spearhead our Data-Driven Design initiatives in architecture. This role focuses on leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance design processes, improve client engagement, and open new avenues for research and innovation. A deep understanding of both generative AI and its application in architecture is crucial. The successful candidate must possess expert-level skills in software development and demonstrate the ability to lead diverse teams and projects, contributing significantly to our global mission of promoting cutting-edge design and technological advancements in architecture. Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of generative AI and machine learning tools to revolutionize the architectural design process, applying data-driven and intelligent strategies at various project stages. Engage clients effectively by showcasing the benefits of advanced software solutions in architecture, tailored to meet unique client requirements and challenges. Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and successful achievement of project objectives. Collaborate with internal teams to seamlessly integrate software solutions into architectural project workflows, promoting widespread adoption and efficiency. Mentor and guide team members in software development and architectural design techniques, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners, academic institutions, and technology providers to stay updated on the latest trends in AI and its application in architecture. Represent the company at industry events and conferences, highlighting our commitment to innovation and excellence in data-driven architectural design. Play a key role in defining and achieving goals in Data-Driven Design; collaborate in formulating and executing the Data-Driven Design strategy. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in software development, preferably in the architecture industry, with a strong emphasis on data-driven strategies. Expertise in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, and others, with a focus on applications in architectural design. Experience with software tools relevant to architecture, such as Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo, Revit, or similar platforms. In-depth understanding of the architectural design process and the ability to integrate software development at various stages. Proven leadership in managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating effective collaboration and communication skills. Excellent presentation and interpersonal abilities, capable of conveying complex software concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Availability for occasional travel as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence in the context of architectural design. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and related technologies. Contributions to open-source projects or published research in computational design or related fields.
