Role Details: Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from the Underground mining operations (Invincible UG). In compliance with site standards, you will be responsible for all site mining engineering requirements of short-term scheduling in line with short to medium term plan. Training and development of graduate and drill and blast engineers. Liaising with operational and technical departments for timely delivery of plans to meet delivery timelines. Relief coverage for Senior Mining Engineer as required. This role is offered on a 8 days on, 6 days off roster fly in fly out from Perth, or residential Kambalda/Kalgoorlie. Benefits include: 6% Site Allowance & Private Health Insurance Allowance Quarterly Bonus Scheme Salary sacrifice options Increased annual leave entitlements Long service leave pro rata after 5 years of continuous service Educational assistance About the role: Assist the Senior Mining Engineer with the preparation of short and medium-term plans and forecasts; Development and implementation of weekly and monthly production and development plans; Liaise and coordinate with the operational and technical teams for short-term schedule implementation; Apprising the Underground Manager of issues that may affect safe and efficient production through frequent communication in a professional manner in line with the Goldfields values; Develop drill and blast designs that maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution; Contribute to continuous improvement of dilution and recovery in stopes through design optimization; Be organised and prepared to undertake additional/alternative responsibilities as reasonably requested by Senior Mining Engineer or Underground Manager including relief coverage. About you: Hold a Bachelor of Mining Engineering or equivalent Proven experience as a Mining Engineer, including strong drill and blast experience Be team-orientated with strong communication skills Have exposure to Mining software Deswik CAD would be highly regarded Possess a valid Driver's Licence Can mentor and develop the capability of Graduate Engineers Applications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/Australia Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
