The role: You will support the Markets division in Corporate & Institutional Banking, work with Compliance, Risk and Technology and Operations to support NAB and its customers' trading activities in derivatives and guide NAB on the regulatory obligations for derivatives. Your broad knowledge of different areas of the law will help you work through a variety of matters and scenarios from simple to complex. You have a strong customer focus and understand the importance of speed to market while managing risk within appetite. Key responsibilities: Provide subject matter expertise and legal advice on complex trading agreements with a variety of customers including banks, funds, infrastructure and property companies Structure and document Markets' transactions for both new and existing products Provide advice on regulatory requirements for financial services and implement regulatory changes relating to derivatives Provide advice, support and documentation on general legal issues for Markets' derivative activities and regulatory obligations Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external panel law firms What you will bring: We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can apply their technical skills and support NAB's Markets. You will have: 4 years PQE with solid experience in law from private practice or an in-house legal team Tertiary qualification with a degree in Law Current Australian Practising Certificate Previous experience negotiating derivatives agreements, experience on confirmations and derivative products Experience providing regulatory advice within the banking and finance industry A pro-active, agile mindset with strong problem solving and influencing skills Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders A team player that has excellent communication, negotiation and written skills A strong customer focus and the ability to manage work priorities A diverse and inclusive workplace works better for everyone We know that our people make us who we are.
