Sydney, NSW / Full-Time The DroneShield Tech Team is expanding and is looking to recruit a Junior NPI Engineer to work within the NPI Team and collaborate with the Design, Quality, and Production Teams. This role will take product prototypes through to production through the development of jigs and fixtures that increase accuracy and speed of assembly and testing. The position will report primarily to the VP of Design. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail, creative problem solving and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fast-moving ASX listed defence technology company. This role would suit a junior with the right skills and attitude. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn from skilled Engineers in the team and work with cutting edge equipment. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Develop and maintain jigs and fixtures for product assembly and testing Develop and maintain assembly documentation in collaboration with the Design and Production Teams Develop and maintain production QC documentation Develop IQC and OQC requirements in collaboration with the Quality Team Work with suppliers to resolve part quality issues and implement supplier level QC processes Train DroneShield production staff and contract manufacturers on correct assembly and testing Communicate required design changes to the Design Team and Electronics Team Qualifications, Experience and Skills Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Design or relevant experience Experience with SolidWorks required Some experience in electronics assembly and testing preferred Some soldering experience is preferred Experience with RF equipment and testing preferred Ability to understand complex concepts and processes Ability to ideate and rapidly prototype designs Excellent written and visual communication skills Experience writing instructional documentation Strong troubleshooting skills Passionate about technology Excellent attention to detail Ability to work autonomously and as part of a fast-paced team Respect and appreciation of process, doing the right thing even if no-one is watching Strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle pressure "Can do" attitude and willingness to help in variety of tasks, including occasional tasks unrelated to the core role Suitable to hold a security clearance if required
