Our client is seeking a driven and dedicated Wind Engineer to join their team in Brisbane or Melbourne, Australia. As a Wind Engineer, the successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, optimizing, and implementing innovative solutions to harness the power of wind and contribute to the growth of renewable energy. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive site assessments and feasibility studies for offshore wind projects, considering factors such as wind resources, environmental impacts, and technical constraints. Develop and optimize wind turbine layouts and configurations to maximize energy production, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Utilize advanced modeling and simulation techniques to analyze wind turbine performance, including wake effects, turbulence, and dynamic response. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate wind energy systems into overall project plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements. Lead the development of innovative solutions and technologies to enhance the performance and reliability of offshore wind farms. Provide technical expertise and support throughout all stages of project development, from conceptual design to construction and operation. Conduct detailed risk assessments and mitigation strategies for offshore wind projects, addressing challenges such as extreme weather conditions and operational uncertainties. Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in wind energy engineering, and incorporate relevant advancements into project designs and methodologies. Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and industry partners, to build consensus and support for offshore wind initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety protocols in all engineering activities and project implementations. Mentor and coach junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Contribute to the strategic planning and growth initiatives of the company's wind energy portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in wind energy engineering, with a focus on offshore wind projects. Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for wind resource assessment, turbine layout optimization, and performance modeling. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets to inform engineering decisions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to offshore wind development is a plus. Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability. Location: This position is based in Brisbane or Melbourne, Australia, with occasional travel to project sites and other offices as needed.
