THE POSITION: The position provides clerical and administrative support within the Major Events unit to facilitate the delivery of Council’s major events and business objectives. ESSENTIAL: Skills and experience in administration with the ability to provide responsive administrative support across the unit. Organisation, project and time management skills combined with the ability to work unsupervised, handling competing priorities to adapt to fluctuating workloads and changing priorities Ability to apply initiative and problem solve on issues encountered in day-to-day activities to determine and implement an appropriate course of action Skills and experience working within a customer service environment with the ability to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction combined with the ability to respond appropriately to customer requests and meet customer service requirements Interpersonal and communication skills including oral, written and verbal skills, for exchange of information with a diverse range of internal stakeholders Experience in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including email and internet as well as databases Knowledge of Council operations and relevant policy and procedures Skills and experience in a relevant field DESIRABLE: Skills and experience in an events environment. Skills and experience in website administration. SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Casual position up to 35 hours per week This position is a Grade 1 salary range is $30.62 per hour with progression to $32,95 per hour on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $35.85 per hour, plus 11% Super Flexible working hours are available.
