About The Company Our client is a world leader in supporting science and has a state-of-the-art facility in Brisbane that specializes in clinical and commercial manufacturing and single-use biologics technology. The Brisbane site boasts expertise in GMP for clinical and commercial manufacturing and is in a period of growth and expansion. About the Role A permanent full-time position, working predominantly business hours Monday to Friday. This is a client facing position that sometimes requires flexibility to meet with clients outside working hours, especially to interact with overseas clients. You will support your clients by providing updates throughout the tech transfer process and upstream processing steps. You’ll be joining a small, close-knit team of Bioprocess Engineers (Upstream) who are each responsible for 1-2 projects at a time. There is a lot of project management in this role, so you will need to have a strong technical background and ability to work independently. You will work to ensure that new cell generation processes and process improvements are optimally transferred from process development. Some of the responsibilities are as follows: Coordinate mammalian cell culture processes for the production and manufacturing of recombinant proteins (including mAbs) Support the technical transfer assessment of the facility fit, bioreactor processes, media, cell culture scale-up and harvesting with the support of the greater manufacturing team Lead the hands-on problem solving and root cause investigations to resolve deviations related to the equipment, process or product Prepare reports, process flow diagrams, manufacturing batch records and evaluation of technical batch data Help to identify workflow, resources or process gaps for continuous improvement Provide onsite technical support to the manufacturing team About You To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary degree in Science or Engineering (biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, biomanufacturing, bioprocessing) Upstream bioprocessing experience using mammalian cell cultures Experience in a GMP environment with a strong understanding of regulations and their application to the position Strong project management ability – independence, organisation, planning and time management Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly Full working rights in Australia If you meet the above criteria and are interested in this opportunity, please apply online in the first instance.
