Role details The Medical Education Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital are seeking applications for an Administration Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity To provide high quality, efficient and effective general administrative support service for the Medical Education Unit (MEU). Develop and maintain efficient administrative and information management systems to support MEU initiatives and reporting requirements. This position reports to the Director Support Officer however work may be allocated by relevant portfolio manager/s. About the Team The Medical Education Unit (MEU) provides accredited educational programs, facilitates adequate supervision and monitoring of clinical performance, and provides mentoring and personal support for prevocational medical practitioners (doctors who are in their first to third year of training after graduation from medical school and have not yet committed to vocational training, i.e. interns and resident medical officers) and international medical graduates. The unit works in close collaboration with James Cook University and with Directors of Clinical Training in the various vocational training pathways available in the MHHS to provide coordinated, integrated and comprehensive training of medical practitioners extending from undergraduate, prevocational, vocational and postgraduate training. About our Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
