Position Information Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School is a 7-12 coeducational high school established in 1962. We are situated on the traditional lands of the Mulgoa clan of the Dharug people in Emu Plains. With an enrolment of around 900 students in 2024, including 9.3% of students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, we proudly celebrate growth in learning for all our students. Our school community comprises a selective stream for students who excel in the Creative and Performing Arts in addition to local area enrolments, and an Inclusive Education Unit which supports over 60 students with diagnosed hearing impairment and/or intellectual disability. Our audition-based Creative and Performing Arts program enables students who demonstrate high potential and giftedness in one or more areas of the creative and performing arts to extend their talents beyond the regular curriculum. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,  Demonstrated high-level ability to effectively manage the daily organisation of a large and complex specialist Creative and Performing Arts High School, with proven capacity to meet critical timelines, solve problems and respond to unforeseen circumstances efficiently and equitably.       Proven capacity to oversee the use of online administrative systems such as SAP, Edval, Sentral, Schoolbytes and NESA Schools Online to manage school-wide organisation and communication in administrative operations including, but not limited to, daily variations to routine, staffing, timetabling, test administration and student credentialing, with a strong focus on quality teaching and learning.   Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that foster positive relationships with all stakeholders in the school community.   Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic and proactive leader who works collaboratively with the school executive team to identify, develop and lead initiatives to achieve the school’s strategic priorities. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
