Position Information Arthur Phillip High School is situated in the progressive and rapidly expanding CBD city of Parramatta, bringing an exciting and dynamic energy to the school. The school is culturally diverse and has a student enrolment of 1560 with 94% having English as an additional language or dialect (representing over 40 different cultures). The new school boasts facilities that incorporate future-focused, flexible teaching spaces with adaptable/moveable furniture and room configurations. The learning spaces are technology-rich to serve multiple learning contexts from large class groups to small clusters, providing better opportunities for innovation, collaboration, personalised and individualised learning. Arthur Phillip High School incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) areas, fitness labs for physical education classes, and wet and dry studios for music instruction and practice. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,  Approval to teach Home Economics and a willingness to teach VET Hospitality with demonstrated capacity to lead VET programs within the Home Economics Key Learning Area. Proven capacity to dynamically work as a productive member of the executive team to analyse data and to lead, implement and support whole school priorities and initiatives. Demonstrated capacity to inspire, grow and support staff leading to a collaborative culture and high performing faculty. Capacity to lead data driven responsive and transformative teaching and learning initiatives designed to improve the learning outcomes and wellbeing of students with complex needs from a diverse range of backgrounds.  General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
