Teacher Learning and Support - Wentworth Point Public School — Sydney, Sydney Region

Position Information Wentworth Point Public School is located within Sydney Olympic Park. The school opened in January 2018 and has experienced significant and rapid changes, most notably with enrolments. The school serves a culturally and linguistically diverse community with families speaking in excess of 50 languages. We currently have 88% of students from a non-English speaking background. The current school enrolment is over 740 students which includes a Support Unit. The school buildings are contemporary, modern, flexible and designed to prepare and support our students in their growth and development as lifelong learners through authentic collaboration. Our commitment at Wentworth Point Public School is to develop the whole child. To create optimal opportunities for learners, our focus is to increase every student’s sense of belonging and advocacy at school to meet the educational, social and emotional needs Selection Criteria 1) Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (primary) in regular and/or support classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers. 2) Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to support assessment for learning of their students with additional educational needs and identify specific learning needs and targeted intervention.  3) Evidence of experience in data analysis from a variety of sources to drive individual and group evidence-based interventions to support student engagement, participation and wellbeing.  4) Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage proactively and professionally with students, parents, staff, support agencies and the wider community, as part of a collaborative team.  Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
