Position Information Strathfield South High School is an inclusive, comprehensive Public High School with a Support Unit of 12 classes, 8 Autism, 4 Hearing impairment, located in Sydney's inner west. The School  enrolments are approximately 576 students. The school is culturally and linguistically diverse, with 80% of students coming from a non-English speaking background. We celebrate and champion diversity and work collaboratively with our community to ensure all students develop a deep understanding and empathy for the cultural backgrounds of themselves and others. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation and evaluation of differentiated and evidence-based inclusive teaching programs and assessments which engage and support students to allow for growth and attainment across a broad range of learning need. Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning through use of data and evidence-informed evaluative teaching practices to lead improvement within the faculty, for staff at all stages of their career. Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership experience in developing practices to maximise support for student and staff well-being  and nurture positive relationships across the school.   Demonstrated ability in visible leadership, with the capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team, to drive whole school improvement through effective implementation of initiatives aligned to the Strategic Improvement Plan . General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
