Position Information Fort Street High School is an academically selective high school with a long history of providing education for gifted students. The school is located in Petersham and has an enrolment of 915 students of whom 75% come from language backgrounds other than English. The school is known for developing leadership across an extensive range of areas and endeavours. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, Expert knowledge of curriculum and assessment with a demonstrated capacity to lead the development and implementation of high-quality Stage 6 teaching and learning programs that support HPGE students. Outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to develop and lead history and languages staff at all stages of their career, provide feedback and strategies to improve practice, and deliver professional learning to foster effective teaching practices. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement data driven, evidenced based teaching initiatives that have sustained and targeted impact on student performance. A strong record of contributing to whole school programs that demonstrate a capacity to work as a dynamic member of the school executive team in the implementation of shared visions and the school’s strategic directions. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
