Eden Public School provides quality education where children are encouraged to “Dare to Dream”, “Act to Achieve”. The current student enrolment is 258. Enrolments include mainstream students, gifted and talented students, 27% First Nation students, as well as 25% students with learning disabilities and or learning/adjustments, some of whom are supported within one of 3 support classes. The school has a strong partnership with the P&C, the local AECG and numerous other community-based groups. The Far South Coast Specialist Hearing Team covers a broad geographical area from Huskisson to the Victorian Border. The ISTH position requires the capacity and ability with travel between educational settings and local communities. This position is managed and led by the Assistant Principal Hearing based at Milton Public School. Selection Criteria Approval to teach hearing Impairment primary and secondary. Successful teaching experience with the capacity to initiate improvement in teaching and learning in meeting the personalised learning and differentiation needs of students with a hearing loss and with other disabilities. Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policy and Partnership Agreement. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with schools, students, their families, and communities. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student wellbeing with the capacity to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality differentiated Literacy and Numeracy programs with improved outcomes and student engagement. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build collaborative relationships and engage students, staff, parents and paraprofessional. Experience and/or willingness to engage in professional learning, including but not limited to Auslan and the relationship with student self-advocacy disability skills. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
