Vaucluse Public School has an enrolment of 240 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in nine mainstream classes and three classes in a Special Education Support Unit. These classes include two Autism classes and one IO class. Vaucluse Public School prioritises optimal student outcomes through a focus on learning for wellbeing and academic success. Selection Criteria Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with Autism (Au), Moderate Intellectual Disabilities (IO), Mild Intellectual Disabilities (IM), and other complex support and learning needs. Demonstrated ability to design quality differentiated programs that respond to the social, emotional, behavioural, academic and communication requirements of students with complex learning needs. Evidence of implementing strong classroom management strategies and wellbeing programs with a proven ability to develop a positive learning environment that promotes student success. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively contribute to our whole school culture by working collaboratively with staff members, students, families and external agencies. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
