Teacher Special Education - Busby Public School — Sydney, Sydney Region

Position Information Enrolment is currently 261 students inclusive of 21 students across 3 support unit classes. The school consists of 70% language background other than English and 14% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Staff are committed to creating engaging, purposeful and challenging programs and environments developing skills required for students to become independent, life-long learners. Selection Criteria        1. Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience teaching students in a support unit setting with diverse needs including autism, intellectual disability, complex learning needs and social and emotional needs. Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver a differentiated evidence-informed curriculum through the design and implementation of high-quality student plans with the aim to promote inclusivity and maximise student engagement. Demonstrated ability to develop a positive, engaged and well-managed learning environment, through the implementation of contextually appropriate strategies that maximise learning opportunities. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organisation with the ability to positively contribute to our whole school culture by working collaboratively with staff members, students, families and external agencies. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
