Position Information Kingswood High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school established in 1969 and located in the Penrith Valley area. The school is comprised of 992 students, including 16.2% of students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and 29.5% of students who have a language background other than English. The school also includes a Special Education Unit that supports up to 60 students through the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning activities personalised to support student growth and development.  T he school occupies spacious grounds with specialised facilities, including a state-of-the-art Trade Training Centre, Multipurpose Sports Centre and Auditorium, student managed cafe, after school Homework Club, fully equipped gym, international quality sporting field, a diverse Primary Industry Farm and the Kingswood Recording Studio.  The school is committed to developing socially responsible, self-disciplined, motivated, life-long learners in a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,  Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team, demonstrating capacity to collaboratively engage and motivate teachers to improve their practice and professional knowledge, and build a supportive culture of excellence within the team during a time of curriculum change. Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capacity to establish effective partnerships with colleagues, parents and the broader community to achieve improved learning outcomes for all students. Well-developed understanding of current evidence-based pedagogical practices, with demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of high-quality teaching-learning programs that result in student engagement and growth  Demonstrated capacity to be a highly effective and collaborative member of the school’s executive team, contributing to a cycle of continuous improvement through the delivery of the School Improvement Plan General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2.
