Position Information Erina High School is a proud comprehensive public school that supports all students to maximise their potential through a broad, flexible and future focused pattern of study. Enrolment for 2024 is 771 students, approximately 8% Aboriginal and 9% from Non-English Speaking backgrounds. The school has a Special Education Unit with three multi-categorical classes and a staff allocation of 69 which includes 57 Teaching and 12 non-teaching support staff. Erina High School is a member of the Erina Learning Community (ELC) with strong links with our partner primary schools. Erina High is a participating school in the Department's Educational Pathways Program (EPP) designed to improve higher education and career outcomes for young people and receives support from a SBAT Engagement Officer. Teaching and learning is the school's core business. Teacher quality and continuous improvement in teaching practice are key priority areas for the school. Participation in high impact professional learning and use of evaluative practices are key focuses of the current Strategic Improvement Plan. Building a school culture of excellence through the setting of high expectations in learning, attendance, behaviour and uniform, enhancing student wellbeing and building leadership density within the school are other key priorities. The school has a strong relationship with the Tjudibaring AECG and is working in partnership with the AECG to deepen understanding of Aboriginal history and culture for all students and support Aboriginal students to achieve the goals of the 2020-2030 AECG Partnership agreement. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,  §   Approval to teach English 7-12 with demonstrated evidence of outstanding classroom teaching practice and an ability to engage and motivate students, leading to improved student learning outcomes.   §   Demonstrated capacity to inspire, grow and support staff leading to a collaborative culture and high performing faculty.   §   Capacity to lead staff through the current curriculum reform agenda to successfully create contemporary teaching and learning programs, and high quality evaluative and assessment practices.   §   Proven ability lead and support whole school literacy improvement. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
