Working within the Hardware Engineering team and in collaboration with other discipline-specific engineering teams, the role involves performing detailed design work to develop new and unique products to meet specific customer needs. What the role will involve: The responsibilities of your role will include the following: - Develop and prototyping of new power and control circuits, including programmable logic devices, or design modification of existing products - Collaborate with software engineering team to develop programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL - Collaborate with software engineering team to develop firmware for embedded systems - Generate schematic diagrams and lay out PCBs - Creation of power budgets to track power consumption - Documentation of product design - Perform stress analysis and reliability predictions - Qualification testing of new products - Present design details during internal and customer reviews - Mentor less experienced engineers - Provide Engineering support to manufacturing as required What you'll bring: The role of Hardware Engineer requires the following experience and skills: - Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with RPEQ - Extensive experience as a Hardware Engineer - Expert knowledge of Altium Designer with regards to generating schematic diagrams and PCB layouts - Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team - Desirable Selection Criteria - Experience in programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL - Experience in developing software and firmware for microcontrollers in C/C++, bare metal and/or with an operating system - Experience with Python or another scripting language - EMI/EMC knowledge - Experience with a production environment About Us L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems Australia is a Brisbane based subsidiary of L3Harris and part of our ICI Division.
