About the Job We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic and experienced Permanent Part-time Animal Transport Driver to join our fantastic team, working from our pet hotel in Mascot . This role is responsible for the local transfer of Detector Dogs for Mascot Airport as well as the local and interstate transfer of domestic pets between vets, homes, airports, breeders, our pet hotels and doggy day care locations. In addition, we offer transport services to regional areas throughout NSW. Our Animal Transport Drivers are the first people our customers meet and play a crucial role in delivering the highest service levels on behalf of Hanrob. Hours can vary dependent on business needs, including early starts and late finishes . These shifts range from Monday - Sunday with start and finish times as stated below: 4:45am - 8:45am 10:45am - 2:45pm 5:30pm - 9:30pm This role would be an average of 30 hours offered across 5 days per week (additional domestic pet transport shifts available on either side of these above shift times), with opportunities for increased hours up to 38 during peak periods with duties spread across our Transport division and Pet Hotel. About You You enjoy working as part of a team, but are also happy to work unsupervised while driving our precious cargo of beloved pets and detector dogs in our Hanrob Vans. Additionally, you will demonstrate: A current unrestricted Australian Drivers License with a clean driving record - please note that preliminary drivers are not eligible (i.e. no P Platers) as you must be 25 years old for insurance purposes. You own a car to get to and from work (public transport is not available nearby or to meet the early shift times). A friendly approach with people and a desire to engage with our customers. Show great care, empathy and compassion towards companion animals and their owners. A love of animals is essential, as well as basic animal handling experience. Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Local driving experience in the Sydney region including busy areas surrounding Sydney Airport. Ability and recent experience driving a large van. High standards of hygiene and professional appearance. Motivated, organised and reliable, and willing/able to cover extra shifts at short notice. Available to work during public holidays and school holiday periods. In addition to driving, the incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions), and in close proximity to cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, airport and Department of Agriculture staff, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person and over the phone, in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
