Junior School Music Teacher — North Sydney, North Sydney Area

Wenona is seeking a Junior School Classroom Music Teacher to join our Team. You will be responsible for overseeing Years K - 7. You will help develop and inspire our young women by supporting their music skills in the classroom and beyond through a commitment to high performance. The Position Junior School Classroom Music staff play an important role developing student’s skills and knowledge within Music. Key priorities for the role include: Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans. Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet student needs. Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development. Assign and grade examinations, assessment tasks, class work, homework, tests and assignments in a timely manner. Provide appropriate and timely feedback to students. Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development. Perform such other ad hoc duties as requested. This is a temporary full time position, covering Term 2, 2024. This role requires the successful applicant to hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check and to be fully COVID vaccinated. For more details about the role and requirements, please refer to the attached role description. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring relevant experience and passion within music. The role requires excellent communication skills, especially engaging with various stakeholders including students, parents and staff. You will be highly organised, dealing and should also have the desire and passion to engage and support a variety of students within the classroom. While not essential, it is desirable if you have some knowledge of the Kodály pedagogy.
