Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands, and a bustling CBD. Our aim is to ensure North Sydney remains a welcoming, well-designed, safe and beautiful environment for residents, workers and visitors. We currently have an exciting casual position available to provide administrative support to our creative Arts & Culture team. This role will require availability up until 30 June to assist the team in delivering the North Sydney Art Prize (11 May- 2 June), along with and a range of other community arts projects. The hours will increase in the lead up to the Art Prize from 3-5 days (16-35 hours) with availability required on weekends during art prize. This busy role will require you to produce written resources including rosters, schedules and artwork registration documentation. The role will also include providing a welcoming environment for visitors, record keeping and maintenance of the art prize while working with other invigilators in a lead capacity. This position will also be responsible for the following: Assist the Arts and Culture Team in the organisation of the North Sydney Art Prize and with of a wide range of community arts programs and projects. Provide administrative assistance including development of written resources including rosters, schedules and artwork registration documentation. Providing a welcoming environment for our visitors, ensuring they get the most from their visit. Being the first point of contact for visitors and answering any queries Speak with confidence about the artworks, the site (training provided) and answer general queries including wayfinding on site. Be visible and engage with all visitors and staff, to ensure gallery guidelines and protocols are followed. Ensuring the safety of visitors and staff in the galleries. LEAD with opening and closing up procedures which may include turning on/off video and electronic equipment, and ensure all visitors leave the gallery promptly at closing time. Any other duties as required Essential Criteria Computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use Microsoft desktop software, including Word and Excel. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects at one time. A calm and friendly manner Excellent inter-personal skills balanced with professionalism and diplomacy and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to other invigilators Experience providing high standards of customer service in a public facing or front of house role.
