The key duties of the position include The Role The Assistant Director within Enterprise Committees leads a strong team to deliver the Departments most senior decision-making forums. The Assistant Director provides support to the Secretary, the Chief of the Defence Force, the Associate Secretary and the Vice Chief of the Defence Force. Working in Enterprise Committees will expose you to high-level meetings, providing invaluable insights to both priorities and processes of running the Defence organisation. The Assistant Director leads a high performing team on the delivery of Enterprise level committees and provides candidates with the unique opportunity to sit in on senior decision-making discussions, write outcomes, and provide administrative business to the operation of Enterprise level committees. We are seeking a number of suitably skilled and experienced applicants who can demonstrate skill and/or experience in: Leading a high performing team; High-level stakeholder engagement (including cross-agency); High-level written and verbal communication; Sound professional judgement; Strong critical thinking; and Undertaking analytical work on papers, policy or decisions. About our Team Enterprise Committees is a dynamic, high performing team who have the privilege of working directly with the Department of Defence's 'Top 4' through enabling critical decision making in Committee meetings at the Enterprise level. Committees supported by the Enterprise Committees team: Defence Committee - Chaired by the Secretary and the Chief of the Defence Force; Strategic Policy Committee - Chaired by the Secretary; Chiefs of Service Committee - Chaired by the Chief of the Defence Force; Enterprise Business Committee - Chaired by the Associate Secretary; and Investment Committee - Chaired by the Vice Chief of the Defence Force. Key functions performed within each section include: Lead a high performing team to deliver strategic, analytical and administrative support to Defence senior leadership. Attend senior Departmental committees and draft outcomes and decisions to circulation across senior officials.
