About the role An amazing and interesting role of a Network Automation Engineer has risen within the Network Services business unit at Coles. The primary objective of this role will be to build and configure the Coles Network, within the WAN and network management and automation (Network Services) Team. You will be part of the network Automation Squad. You will provide expert operational network support and manage the entire lifecycle of a large enterprise network serving multiple offices, distribution centres, and retail locations. This role will be accountable of a network with new emerging technologies, namely, WAN(SD-WAN) and LAN(SD-Access) technologies as well as network management and automation, with high proficiency in Python will be highly desirable. Your key responsibilities will include: Combined technical expertise in Cisco Routing and Switching infrastructure with exceptional customer care and problem-solving skills. Technical Expertise in network automation technologies and methodologies. Ability to build and create automated process for network deployment and troubleshooting via different automation tools. Deploy and maintain network management and observability tools such as DNAC, Statseeker, etc.) Demonstrable thought leadership, innovation, and deployment with Cisco Network technologies Work with innovative technologies and adapt them to work in the Coles Network Environment Lead large scale hardware deployments. Lead large scale Software life cycle management. You will be the main escalation point for Level 3 operational support related issue or service and provide the best network and network support experience to Coles' team members, and its partners and customers. Provide tier 3 support on changes and tasks. Perform a key role to develop IT solutions across Network and related technologies. Implement and maintain Network security standards in conjunction with architects, designers, and security teams. Develop and maintain detailed diagrams for existing and new technologies; work with automated network diagram tools; and engage with network architects and designers. Provide expert technical direction and skills in network incidents in coordination with the NOC, and service delivery team. Manage the network with consideration for return on investment, life cycle management, business continuity planning and service level management. Provide deep technical advice and guidance across IT teams to satisfy business requirements. Ensure utilisation of technology is in line with published strategies and architectures. Ensure appropriate quality and security standards are always applied. Accountable for individual compliance with company values, policies, and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations. Function as a mentor/coach to fellow team members and provide specialised expertise, support and guidance to ensure high quality products and services are developed to appropriate standards and procedures. Recommend decisions in the context of the broad strategic direction of Coles, ensuring decisions made are consistent with current operational needs and possible future directions. Balance conflicting ideas and concepts, such as finding the right balance between extensibility and over-engineering. Develop input for initiatives and new technologies with manager, team lead, and design and architecture squads which provide business benefit to the organisation. Maintain an awareness of the tactics, environment, and trends in the retail business and within Coles. Identify opportunities to improve systems functionality to address business issues. Proactively drive network performance and availability improvements Understand the Coles Business and systems. Detailed understanding of the project function, and the critical path. Provide guidance and advice in the resolution of technical problems. Broadly support Lifecycle management in WAN. Work collaboratively across the specialist squads within Voice and Data Network Support teams. Provide strong documentation to assist your colleagues and the NOC. About you and your skills In-depth experience in Cisco Routing, Switching. High Level of Experience in Python programming for Network Automation. (Other Automation Tools and languages are welcome) Experience in software testing and Cisco Software life management. Knowledge of DNA-C, Prime, Statseeker and other monitoring and network management tools. Knowledge of Emerging technologies SDWAN, SDAccess, etc… Background or knowledge of security principles. Experience with Vendor Management. Hold a CCNP or equivalent. Commercial Skills & Formal Qualifications Technological certification in Cisco networking, Cisco Routing and Switching, or equivalent highly desirable. CCNP or equivalent experience level knowledge of routing and switching.
