English and Drama Teacher — North Sydney, North Sydney Area

The Position The role of English & Drama Teacher is a rewarding opportunity to inspire our students and continue to build our thriving academic program. Key priorities for the role include: Teach and aspire to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle in collaboration with our team of professional educators. Plan and implement authentic assessments that informs teaching and learning. Provide pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people. Facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement in the classroom and beyond. Support the demands of Drama productions and performances. Assess, record, report and provide feedback on the progress, development and attainment of student’s and keep records as required. This is a temporary part-time position, starting asap until Term 4, 2024. This role requires the successful applicant to be NESA accredited, hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check and to be fully COVID vaccinated. About You To be successful in this role, you will be highly qualified and have experience teaching English and Drama subjects across Years 7-12. You will display a strong working knowledge of NESA curriculum and HSC assessment practices and marking processes. You will be solutions-focused, flexible and have excellent communication skills with an ability to engage and communicate with various stakeholders. You will be capable of working collaboratively within a team environment and be committed to supporting the values of Wenona as you undertake your role.
