Our Centre brings together leading researchers who are building an evidence base to support the social inclusion of people with disability. We aim to: Provide a national focal point for cross-disciplinary research into social inclusion and participation of people with disability. Work closely with service providers to identify and integrate research evidence into their everyday practice through practical approaches. Train and educate the current and next generation of leaders to identify best evidence and translate it into practice. Work with thought leaders and government to identify and address policy issues in a non-partisan manner. The themes of our research are: • Improving Disability Services Design • Building the Evidence Base for Participation and Social Inclusion • Improving Mainstream Services Design Duties: Acquire and interpret research data and results. Run analyses and tests using specified and agreed techniques and models. Contribute to the development of techniques, models and methods. Conduct and publish, or otherwise disseminate high quality and/or high impact research/scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as part of a team. Contribute to literature reviews and preparation of ethics applications. Undertake limited administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research. Contribute to and uphold a robust and ambitious research culture. Skills, Experience and attributes Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area. Evidence of experience in research and evaluation and the ability to work effectively under limited supervision or independently. Experience in the analysis and modelling of data, including the capacity to integrate data from a range of sources and of uneven quality. Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
