Payroll Officer (Full Time / Part Time) — Mascot, Rockdale Area

We are currently seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our Finance team. If you're passionate about accuracy, compliance, and customer service, we want to hear from you As a Payroll Officer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our payroll system data. Your responsibilities will include processing fortnightly payrolls, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and providing support and advice on payroll matters to internal stakeholders. Every day is different, but you'll mostly be: Process fortnightly payrolls for approximately 110 staff members, maintaining accuracy and integrity of payroll data. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal legislation, as well as industrial instruments such as HIGA. Calculate monthly payroll tax in accordance with NSW Revenue regulations. Prepare annual payroll tax reconciliation. Assist with month-end reporting and journaling of payroll to the general ledger. Investigate and handle payroll-related queries. Develop strong internal and external relationships with operations leaders and HR to provide support and advice on payroll matters. Uphold high customer service standards across the business. Collaborate effectively within the finance team. We welcome applications from both Full-Time and Part-Time candidates. What We need from you: Rights to legally work full time in Australia Experience working in a similar role within a hotel environment would be an advantage Mathematical skills are used frequently to perform calculations, reconciliations etc Understanding of HIGA Sound general working knowledge and application of core Payroll processing functions and legislative requirements such as Superannuation, PAYG, Overtime, Loadings, ATO reporting Excellent communication skills both interpersonal and written Experience using an established payroll system is preferred What you can expect from us: We give our people everything they need to succeed.
