Design Manager - Temporary Works — The Rocks, Sydney

Due to continued strong growth and the award of new projects supporting important infrastructure across NSW's transition to renewable energy, we are looking for a Temporary Works Design Manager to join our highly experienced NSW team. This role is an opportunity that will see you managing and controlling the allocated Temporary Works design aspects of the project. You will be sourcing and managing resources, both internally and externally, as necessary to successfully convert the project from the hand over to the construction team all the way through to project completion. Key Accountabilities: Manage the development and implementation of the temporary works procedures and processes. Assist in the vetting and contractual engagement of temporary works designers and temporary works proof engineers. Mentor and lead other engineers. Engage suitably qualified and experienced Temporary Works Designers to design the temporary works based on best value for money. Support the Delivery Team in identifying temporary works requirements and developing solutions that enhance safety, constructability, and value for money. Ensure designs are developed with consideration to construction staging/methodology and that briefs accurately include all relevant constraints and requirements. Perform onsite checking of Temporary Works for specific high-risk activities where the skillset permits. Ensure engineering standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness, and performance are observed. Required Skills and Competencies Tertiary education in civil engineering, structural engineering, or similar field. Highly experienced in temporary works across all phases, including design, planning, procurement, and delivery, in support of major infrastructure projects. Ability to think innovatively while coordinating with digital and business improvement teams. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including clients, design consultants, local authorities, subcontractors, and delivery teams.
