About the Role: Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Draftsperson to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining mechanical designs, technical drawings and schematics for various machinery and equipment used in our production processes. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D models, drawings and specifications for mechanical and structural construction using Autodesk Inventor (Standard and Sheet Metal). Familiar with AutoCAD 2D to prepare high quality/accurate drawings. Familiar with Navisworks to collate modelling. Coordinate with and consult the client and team members to design, lay out, or detail to resolve design or other problems. Review and analyse specifications, drawings and related data to assess the designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed. Create instruction and additional comments for the installation and construction of the design. Make modifications and revise design to correct any deficiencies in accordance with established processes and design review criteria. Assist in estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements. Have a clear and well developed knowledge of the principles of Design for Manufacture. A working knowledge of Australian Standards particularly AS1100. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical construction using computer-assisted drafting equipment. Skills and Experience Formal qualification in Mechanical Design/Drafting or equivalent experience in a similar role Demonstrated Experience with Autodesk Inventor, (in excess of 3yrs will be regarded favourably) Experience with AutoCAD 2D drafting. In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Vault including setup and ongoing drawing management. Strong problem-solving skills. Proven capacity to provide extremely high level of detail and accuracy. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience in materials handling equipment fabrication, drafting or design. Background experience in agricultural based industry advantageous.
