Specialising in litigation for major infrastructure projects in road, rail, and ports, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal support and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of these projects. Key Responsibilities: Represent our client in litigation matters related to major infrastructure projects in road, rail, and ports, including disputes with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Manage all aspects of the litigation process, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals. Conduct legal research and analysis to evaluate the merits of claims and develop effective defence strategies. Collaborate with external counsel and experts to provide legal advice and representation in complex litigation matters. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and executives, to gather relevant information and evidence for litigation proceedings. Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, briefs, pleadings, and settlement proposals. Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to major infrastructure projects and provide guidance on compliance and risk management issues. Assist in the negotiation and settlement of disputes to achieve favourable outcomes for our client while minimising legal and financial risks. Provide legal training and guidance to internal teams on litigation-related matters, including risk mitigation strategies and dispute resolution techniques. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to litigation matters, including case files, correspondence, and legal opinions. Collaborate with other members of the legal department on various legal projects and initiatives as required. Qualifications and Experience: Current practicing certificate. Minimum six years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation and dispute resolution in the infrastructure sector. Strong knowledge of contract law, construction law, and regulatory frameworks governing major infrastructure projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and develop effective strategies. Experience managing complex litigation matters from inception to resolution, including trial experience preferred. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
