The position will be located in the home office in Perth, with potential opportunities for business trips and /or FIFO to site. About the Role: As Workpack Engineer, you will be overseeing and participating in the scoping, sequencing and creation of Work Packages, maintaining Work Package data in Bechtel's systems and updating as required. You will provide support in creation and updating of the Level 3 / 4 schedule, 90-day work front analysis, and 3-week lookahead. Your responsibilities will include: Attending progress meetings and maintaining effective interface with Bechtel, Client and Sub-contractor stakeholders. Coordinating with project controls team, planners, other stakeholder of the project and ensure Work Packages are issued in a timely manner and as per the project priorities. Working with resident engineering, superintendents and field engineers to facilitate planning discussions for each construction work area across multiple disciplines. Coordinating with procurement and engineering to allocate bulk materials, equipment, drawings and data to respective Work Packages. Validating Work Package sequencing aligns with construction execution, testing and startup priorities, and Project earnings curves. Other responsibilities as designated. What You Bring: Degree in Construction, Engineering, or other technical discipline and 4 years of related experience in construction, engineering or project controls, OR in lieu of a degree, 8 years of progressive, directly related experience. Construction experience assigned to a construction site and knowledge of construction activities as relates to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and technical database applications Knowledge of using a 3D Model, Teamworks/Setroute database, Primavera P6, DSCS is preferred. Experience on a mining, port or rail construction site. Proficient in reading drawings, interpreting design, specifications, and industry standards and codes. Prior experience in work scope packaging or workface planning. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
