Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region Armadale Senior High School Teacher - Design and Technology 00000148 Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (SEA GA 2021) Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/SS885022 This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024 Armadale Senior High School (SHS) has undergone significant transformation in recent years and is now seeking a motivated individual to join its dedicated Technologies team. This position offers the opportunity to deliver hands-on, engaging curriculum at both Senior and Lower school levels. The successful applicant will ideally have the capacity to deliver lower school programs in Design and Technologies, with additional opportunities for upper school programs focusing on Materials, Design & Technology in Metal and/or Wood, and Building & Construction. Experience or qualifications in Automotive General and Certificate II Automotive, or similar, would be highly desirable, as the school currently offers these courses. Armadale SHS is a well-resourced school, equipped with an Automotive and Trade training centre, as well as traditional workshops. This environment provides great flexibility for individuals to develop, focus, and expand their professional opportunities. The Technologies learning area at Armadale SHS values a strong team approach, ensuring that each staff member can contribute to and support one another in developing a culture of excellence within the teaching and learning programs. The school offers a wide range of programs, both in and outside the classroom, providing staff with opportunities to engage and develop students. With an already strong Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based program, Armadale SHS is always looking to expand new ideas and technologies into its courses and into lower school Design and Technology. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
