About the position The Officer of Cadets is responsible for the pastoral care of the students in the Cadet Program and supporting students in gaining a sense of confidence and group cohesion. This position demonstrates at all times and in all ways a passion for learning and education as well as for the Cadet values of Courage, Initiative, Respect and Teamwork - to empower youth to achieve their potential. Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: Be available every other Friday afternoon to attend and actively participate in Home Training at Newington College· Attend and actively participate in both the Cadet Camp and Promotions Camp Complete any army training requirements. Support the Cadet Coordinator with regard to school guidelines, rules and expectations of the students undertaking the Cadet program. Report any incidents/accidents through the chain of command and according to time guidelines. Model behaviours that inspire staff and students and adhere to the Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures of the School, including completion of compliance training requirements delivered on an annual basis. Perform the role and its responsibilities in accordance with statutory obligations, organisation values and policies to support the achievement of MLC School’s mission.
