Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Prosecution Officer (Administrative) Level 2 Temporary, fulltime $86,342. About the role: This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with administrative experience, preferably from a high-volume legal environment or similar professional settings to join our Secretariat Unit. The Secretariat unit manages the flow of matters referred to the Director's Chambers, ensuring that matters are registered and processed in an efficient and effective manner. Key responsibilities include: • Register and process the receipt of reports referred to the Director's Chambers in an efficient, effective and timely manner. • Identify the nature of the direction sought and ensure the urgency of a matter and/or any time limitations are brought to the attention of the appropriate person in the Director's Chambers. • Pursue requisitions when further material is requested before a direction can be made. • Maintain Secretariat files and ensure the confidentiality and security of the files. • Maintain statistics such as Detention applications, Sanctions, AG approvals and proceeding to Special Hearing or according to law. About you: • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to exercise sound judgement, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability in order to assess requests and prioritise accordingly. • Proven ability to balance competing priorities in a high volume and fast paced environment. • Possess exceptional organisation, diligent record keeping, and time management skills. • Resonate with the Signature Behaviours of the ODPP (Act with integrity, Communicate clearly, Be courageous, Be accountable, Be adaptive, Promote a supportive environment, and Never stop learning). Interviews The interview process will be conducted virtually, and no travel will be required. The interview process will include capability-based assessments which may require your time and presence on more than one day. Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete an online assessment during a 24-hour period between 11 April to 18 April. The assessment must be completed in one sitting and is expected to take approximately one hour and can be done any time during the specified 24-hour period.
