Our Public Liability team assists clients with injuries that occurred as a result of another party breaching their duty of care. Some may include: slips and trips on public or private property; unsafe premises (such as balconies, stairs or walking surfaces); dog or animal attacks; physical assaults; defective products (or services); Sporting accidents (including recreational and adventure activities); injuries on private property including rental properties or health and fitness injuries (such as massage or personal training). We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Legal Assistant to join the Public Liability team in Melbourne. This role is a Permanent Full-Time position. Hybrid work arrangements will be available. You will support a Practice Leader with all administrative tasks, as well as other duties, that will include: Providing a great level of care and support to our clients in a professional manner Building strong relationships with our clients, internal and external stakeholders Supporting the team with general files management and administration Coordinating appointments for our lawyers, medico-legal appointments for our clients, conferences and mediations Communicating with clients, insurers and other professionals both in writing and verbally Preparing legal correspondence and compiling court documents Preparing matters for conferences and hearings Mentoring and training legal support staff What will you bring? You will be an experienced Legal Assistant with a passion for social justice and generating positive outcomes for clients. The following experience and skills will ensure your success in this position: Previous experience in legal support or business administration A natural passion for helping people and high level of empathy Exceptional experience in communication and customer service Excellent written and drafting skills Recognise the importance of attention to detail and time management Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to multi-task Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment A willingness to learn Proactive approach and initiative Available to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday What next?
