Apply now Job no: 503935 Work type: Casual Location: Sydney Categories: Journalism/Content Making, Production/Content Casual opportunity Sydney Location $40 - $60 per hour (plus shift penalties) depending on experience Work with some of the ABC's most respected journalists News Channel is seeking expressions of interest from motivated and experienced news producers, looking to join its team on a casual basis. Under the guidance of the Editor and Supervising producers you will be responsible for the news production tasks including but not limited to sourcing and editing vision, writing copy, producing live crosses and interviews. We are looking for someone who thrives on in a fast paced environment where you will have the opportunity to help shape the daily news cycle for the News Channel's on demand, digital and television audience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a TV or radio newsroom and ideally has control room or output experience You will need: A wide knowledge base that covers national and international news, as well as sport, politics, finance and popular culture. Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce concise, accurate and engaging content for TV audiences. The ability to identify and suggest new story ideas, or fresh angles for existing stories. Sound desktop editing skills. A working knowledge of the pace and logistical challenges of television news production. Control room and line up experience will be looked upon favourably. This role will work across a 7-day rotating roster.
