As the Senior Experience Designer, you will lead the end-to-end design of Qantas user experiences that elevate the customer journey for our customers and deliver meaningful business and operational outcomes. You will be responsible for employing a variety of human centred design methods and processes to define, design and deliver industry leading user experiences for Qantas customers and employees. You will possess both a human-centric mindset and a keen eye for design fidelity and detail that enables you to span both user experience (UX) as well as visual and interface design (UI). You will play a critical role in designing and delivering an aligned, cohesive and frictionless user experience for our customers, when they interact with our digital service touchpoints. These may include channels including the Qantas App, the Qantas suite of websites, the Qantas Booking Engine, digital servicing touchpoints including kiosk screens and conversational interfaces, as well as internal-facing products that our staff use every day. You will lead other designers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product owners, managers, service designers, technology and marketing, to enhance and innovate digital experiences that elevate the overall customer experience for Qantas customers. You'll use your experience as a thought leader to support and empower other designers to develop their skills and expertise, enabling any direct reports to grow in their careers and maximise influence and impact. You'll have - 7 years of experience as an Experience Designer in a similar hybrid UX/UI design role, with a track record of successfully leading product design projects. Tertiary qualification in Design, HCI, Psychology and/or relevant tertiary qualification A robust portfolio showcasing your design process, creative thinking and solutions to complex design challenges. You will have shipped multiple consumers and/or business products and understand what it takes to create exceptional customer experiences. Deep knowledge of HCD design methods and lean UX process working in agile scrum teams and the ability to lead design thinking from discovery through to delivery Strong understanding of design principles, user-centred design, and usability best practice Strong user research skills to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, gather customer insights, and understand user behaviours, needs, and pain points throughout their journey. Familiarity and experience modern frameworks, and their associated techniques and rituals: Lean, Design Thinking, Scrum, Kanban Deep understanding of usability and accessibility standards, particularly WCAG 2.0 AA compliance Experience solving design problems of significant strategic importance, in large, complex organisations Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence and inform product strategy Experience with using and creating user interface design patterns Inspiring leader to direct and virtual teams, engaging facilitation with proven success and ability to spot flawed logic and coach team to correct errors A strong sense of time management, deadlines, and the ability to adapt diverse challenges and competing priorities Expert level prototyping skills to build interactive prototypes for relevant channel touchpoints. Expert proficiency with current day design tools and software including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite as well as collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence A keen eye for design detail and a portfolio that showcases this Strong workshop and facilitation skills to guide cross-functional teams through user-centred design processes Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams of product managers, service, visual designers and engineers Why Qantas?
