Check out one of our key leader's career stories, supported by Ampol. 7 Leadership tips for women in male-dominated fields - WORK180About the role: This is a pivotal position in our National Development GroupReporting to the National Construction Manager, The Construction Project Manager will ensure the provision of end-to-end construction project management services to the National Development Group covering new developments, knock down rebuilds, underground petroleum tank replacements, site modifications, upgrades, and closures. Additionally, you will provide technical support as required on maintenance initiatives, minor installations and regulatory matters supporting the NDG channels in the region.Key responsibilities: Proven end-to-end construction project management, such as scoping, planning and implementation of NDG programs in line with Business Plans (safely, on time, within budget and complying to regulations. Adhere to Ampol's risk management framework with a focus on continuous improvement in safety, health, environment, and security. Use Ampol Contractor Safety Management processes to build and deliver a world class health and safety culture and deliver best practice contractor management and safety. Maintain strict compliance with Ampol Governance procedures. Provide regular project updates ensuring project delivery in accordance with the project Deployment Plan. Contribute to improvement strategies, striving for best practice in NDG in respect to sustainability, processes, technology and so forth. Collaborate cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure formats are innovative, sustainable and deliver efficient solutions. About you: You are an experienced and trusted construction project manager with practical corporate construction experience, reflecting your ability to lead projects, ideally in a multi-site retail development space, QSR, retail network or similar environment. A highly motivated leader with a sound understanding of construction project management and capability to work autonomously and with various internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis to achieve all project outcomes.This is a full-time flexible role, based in Sydney. There will be travel required at times for this position, as well as the potential to assist with other projects in different states.Key skills and experience: Trade Practices compliant and thorough understanding of these practices Extensive experience leading projects relating to multi-site retail developments such as national service stations, QSR or Retail Networks, however, open to extensive experience from other construction environments. Fuel systems knowledge desirable, but not essential. Sound understanding of Project Management, the levers on performance and how to develop and implement process, procedures, and systems. Sound understanding and experience with finance reporting and assurance processes. Demonstrated ability to identify and drive change and performance, through a culture of continuous improvement. Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, and organisational drive. Collaborative and capable of working with an array of stakeholders internally and externally, but confident to also work autonomously. Commercial and competitive mindset. Focused on value engineering and outcomes. Degree or equivalent in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Building Construction desirable, but not essential. Will review potential candidates with a strong trade background who also have extensive construction project management experience. Our benefits Our total remuneration is competitive.
