Mechanical Design Engineer RCR Mining Technologies | Bunbury Closing date: 02/04/2024 RCR Mining Technologies has an exciting career opportunity in Bunbury for a Mechanical Design Engineer. As a part of the Engineering team you will be working within a dynamic and industry leading multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for the design of Mechanical plant and equipment in the Bulk Materials Handling sector. Using a First Principles approach to Engineering, you will design OEM equipment, large plant and bespoke machines from the concept and pre-feasibility stages through to execution and client handover. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Carrying out Engineering and Design scopes of work as directed by the Design Team Lead Performing and verifying designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practise engineering methods Ensuring designs are compliant to relevant Australian standards, statutory requirement, client specifications and Safety in Design philosophy Issuing and responding to technical queries and non-conformances Assisting with the preparation of Engineering documentation, tenders and quotations Managing Design project outputs including preparation of design plans, task and job lists and documentation to track project progress To be considered for this position, you will need to have: A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering 5 years of demonstratable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills and ability to articulate and follow Mechanical Engineering and Design processes The ability to perform FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran or Strand7 software packages Experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD and Vault Initiative in solving challenging problems The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation At RCR Mining Technologies, we value our employees and offer competitive remuneration and attractive benefits such as: Relocation Assistance Free Income Protection Insurance Free Life Insurance Salary Sacrifice option Paid Parental Leave benefits Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Discounted Private Health Insurance RCR Mining Technologies, a subsidiary of the NRW Holdings Group, is a market leader in the design and manufacture of innovative, award-winning solutions as well as development of materials handling solutions for rail and ore wagons through strategic partnerships.
