The key duties of the position include The Role The Infrastructure Project Services (IPS) manages the quoting and installation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment for Defence in new and existing buildings for Defence Protected Network (DPN) and Defence Secret Network (DSN) workstations, data centers, Audio Visual (AV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC) and voice communications, with in Australia and Overseas. About our Team Perform complex tasks and activities, work to agreed priorities and outcomes that support the delivery of procedural, operational, administrative and business support activities across Defence. Accountable to respond to complex operational, procedural, administrative and business support related enquiries and apply the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to provide advice and services. Identify and interpret relevant legislation, work practices, procedures and policies and apply these to the work area. Explain and apply the operational, technical and resources requirements of an activity and assist in the coordination, delivery and reporting of that activity. Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback. Build and sustain relationships with team members, stakeholders, and actively participate in team work and group activities. Progress work to meet business objectives, recommend solutions for issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes and seek advice and guidance on more complex issues. Our Ideal Candidate An APS5 Administration Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the administration function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results. The APS5 Administration Officer may coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. They may be a team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.
