Join us as Graduate Project Engineer where you will be supporting engineering activities under the supervision of senior engineer in all types of projects sizes and complexities. Complete tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements in Electrification Business Area. Reporting to the Team Leader, this position be based in Moorebank, Australia. Your responsibilities Performing standard computations, analysis, and basic designing tasks. Collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design (e.g. creates drafts for the Project Engineer to approve) Assisting other engineers in preparation of permit applications, testing, drawings, computer aided design work, etc. Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods. Preparing project documentation within one's scope of deliverables Identifying variation requests to support contract claims issuing. Following work plans and cost estimating in one's area of responsibility. Ensuring quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost Supporting risk assessments and implementing result actions in one's area of responsibility. Clarifying technical queries for customers. Interacting with other staff and contractors within one's scope of deliverables Collaborating with the Supply Chain function, reviewing vendor documentation, supporting preparation of RFQs, evaluating of proposals, maintaining the execution of projects, etc Using standard processes and tools applicable to one's area of responsibility. Reporting process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement Assigning tasks and coordinating work with technicians, administrative staff Ensuring safe working procedures and practices are always followed, including the wearing and maintenance of assigned personal protective equipment Your background Minimum Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in Electrical/Mechatronics Knowledge of MV switchgear, protection relays (selection, application and/or programming), digital solutions, communications is desirable Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook is mandatory Experience with MS Project and Some knowledge of SAP operation is preferred Teamwork & collaboration - actively demonstrate teamwork & facilitate collaboration Customer & market orientation - anticipate and addresses evolving customer and market needs & build close and sustainable customer relationships Excellent communication skills & demonstrated negotiation skills are essential More about us ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart, and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity.
