Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services as part of the P4S Program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney. We are delivering water for our customers, to protect Sydney's iconic way of life and leave a legacy for future generations. D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream Maintenance, Service Stream Utilities and WSP. D4C will provide long term employment opportunities to diversify the skills of the people of the southern region of Sydney as well as creating pathways to enter the water industry. What are we looking for? We have identified an exciting opportunity for a Civil Designer to join our projects in the Sydney city area. Key Responsibilities: Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations. Prepare technical reports on small to medium projects. Write winning proposals and win job from a job. Apply legislation, standards, guidelines and project specifications. Develop skills in managing client relations and expectations. Contribute to developing the technical capability of junior staff. Develop experience in supervising others on tasks. Essential Requirements: Typically, 2-6 years of relevant (Water) industry experience. Demonstrated high level of technical knowledge. Ability to undertake construction supervision. Able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings. Ability to prepare concise engineering reports. Well-developed report writing skills including technical and grammar. Ability to develop site investigation and inspection programmes and cost estimates.
