About the Role Reporting to the Head of Collections, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the legal recovery’s function including but not limited to supervising complex complaints, regulatory risks, and high value matters. This role ensures that all legal activity and recoveries matters adhere to the companies’ policies and procedures and relevant legislation and guidelines on a day to day basis. This role works closely with key internal senior stakeholders and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and monitor the performance and budget associated with the legal recovery’s portfolio in terms of arrears, provisions, write-offs, and recoveries. Provide recommendations to management and oversight of external law firms Monitor and oversee key performance indicators for legal recoveries function Implement streamlined process and standards Ensure the legal recoveries team provides prompt and accurate responses to internal and external request for information and operational inquiries Continuously review processes to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved About you To be successful in this role, you will have 5 years of legal recoveries experience, preferably in the asset finance space. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team environment are important to be successful in this role. A sound knowledge of the Consumer Credit Code, Privacy Act, and general knowledge of mortgage litigation and recovery proceedings. A tertiary qualification in Law will be looked upon favorably. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with managing and engaging external law firms as well as having a sophisticated understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements for collections, hardship and recoveries.
