The Opportunity We have a 12-month contract opening for a mid-level lawyer with experience in litigation and dispute resolution in the life insurance / financial services space. You will be involved in managing and advising the business in relation to external disputes and litigation. In this role you will focus on life insurance disputes before the Courts and Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) but may also be involved in other disputes such as Regulatory, Commercial, Superannuation and Employment disputes. This role will suit an agile and adaptable candidate who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic working environment. Your Story Act as an advocate for Resolution Life in relation to disputed/litigated matters. Manage external disputes lodged with AFCA and other external bodies. Work with, and instruct, external law firms. Provide commercially relevant legal advice and services across the business. Effectively communicate with stakeholders around key issues and potential risk. Lead by example, role-modelling collaboration, innovation, and technical and service Relevant legal practicing certificate and tertiary qualifications. Excellent knowledge of and experience in the area of life insurance disputes Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal confidently with internal clients and external parties. Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines. excellence A collaborative individual who enjoys working within a team.
