Position Information Homebush Boys High School is a comprehensive boy’s high school (enrolment of 930 students), with a proud tradition of strong academic achievement and excellence in the fields of sport, the creative arts and many extracurricular activities. We are highly multicultural in nature with over 90% of students with a language background other than English. We have a focus on maximising student learning outcomes with a continuing commitment to literacy and numeracy. Our school staff is experienced and committed to engaging boys in meaningful learning experiences. In addition to the general selection criteria,       1. Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire teachers to maintain best practice and improve student learning outcomes across all faculties.        2. Demonstrated ability to gather and analyse data to strategically plan and implement innovative whole school teaching and learning programs that build motivation and engagement and improve student outcomes.         3. Demonstrated ability to lead evidence-based, whole school professional learning on quality teaching, literacy, and future focused pedagogies to enhance the capacity of all staff, including mentoring, and monitoring teacher accreditation.         4. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and evaluate whole school programs, differentiation and assessment practices that promote engagement through a culture of learning and collaborative practice.           5. Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic member of the executive leadership team and to lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
