We're in search of a Senior Product Designer to lead our Design Systems initiative and champion our commitment to excellence in user experience. This is a Sydney-based role with our office located just a short walk from Wynyard station. An amazing collaborative environment with breakfast and lunch provided every day, although we're 4 days in the office and 1 day from home . A bit about the role As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead our LuxKit Design System team and take it to new heights. Your expertise will be crucial in advancing our current design system to meet the evolving demands of our organization. Additionally, you will continue the work to bridge communication between design and engineering teams, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and optimization of our product development process. Our Product Design team The Luxury Escapes Product Design Team is a group of passionate UX/UI experts who work closely together to craft exceptional experiences for our customers. Our focus is on creating a highly collaborative environment where mutual support and continuous learning are key, as well as having fun along the way. We start each day with brief stand-ups to get everyone up to speed on ongoing projects. We host weekly forums so that designers can showcase their work and get feedback from the whole team. Every other week, we do team retros to acknowledge successes and explore areas for improvement. What you'll do as part of the role Manage the LuxKit team and take ownership of the design system principles, processes, and roadmap. Design and maintain Figma libraries, ensuring they are understandable for our designers and engineers. Collaborate closely with dedicated senior front-end engineers to ensure smooth integration of design components into the codebase. Maintain documentation for utilizing and implementing components. Organize and run regular workshops with the design and engineering teams to promote the best ways of working with LuxKit and Figma. Partner with the delivery teams to plan and coordinate LuxKit initiatives in alignment with roadmap objectives. Embrace an agile approach, swiftly adapting to new requirements and empowering product teams to deliver. Proactively explore, research, and study existing design systems for inspiration to drive innovation and improvement. What we're looking for Extensive experience in product design, with a primary focus on design systems & UI. Expertise in leading design system initiatives, including component design, documentation, and implementation. Advanced proficiency in Figma including design tokens (variables) and reusable components. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with the design team, product managers, engineers, and broader project stakeholders. Deep understanding of responsive web design and native app design patterns. Strong understanding of front-end development principles and experience collaborating with engineers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Adaptability in navigating ambiguous situations, demonstrating a proactive approach to seeking out resources and solutions.
